I know my fuel vendor runs a 70'southward 1-ton 454 carb'd motor with 4.x gears ,, he is lucky to get 8-ten with a couple of drums of fuel and a liftgate on the back. He hates the truck with fuel at $iii.25 here. BTW, pulled the trigger on a new motor for my 94, anbd accept it at the trunk shop getting prettied up. One of these days I'm going to have to go all this junk I own in 1 picture,,, Broad angle lense no uncertainty. (I'chiliad about to catch up with y'all!)<smile> 1966 C-10 street toy 12.06@107 |

Merely in spirited driving, he says he tin can get as bad as half dozen-8MPG. |

It ordinarily gets effectually 13mpg on the open route regardless of conditions, bed full of junk or empty. IMO, there is nothing much you can practice to justify the swap based on mileage. Although the 4L80E is a cracking tranny. You'll need a matching ECU for the swap - so proceed an eye out. The trannys are not hard to find.
